Published by the Lord Privy Seal starting in July 1939, prior to the formation of the Ministry of Home Security, this is one of a series of leaflets aimed at preparing the public for a possible war with Germany.
All leaflets bore the rubric: 'Read this and keep it carefully. You may need it.'
This example covers the preparation of window glass to prevent injury during bombing raids.
