WW2 Commonwealth Issue, Anti-Gas Hood.
Was £95 now £80
The Anti-Gas Hood was introduced with the Anti-Gas Cape and was worn over the head with a drawstring to seal under the chin. The length of the lower flap was sufficient to cover the neck and collar. It was discontinued in 1942 in favour of the No.2 Anti-Gas Ointment that could be applied to the neck before an attack. Whilst it gave excellent protection to the head it gave no protection to the helmet which would have to be decontaminated. There is some evidence that hoods returned to stores were reissued as rain hoods.
This example was manufactured in 1941 by the Canadian, Dominion Rubber Company Limited and is priced to reflect rarity and near mint condition.
