WW2 British, Ground Sheet, 1943.

A nice supple example of the British rubberised ground sheet manufactured in 1943 by T.R.W.
The ground sheet was made of waterproofed canvas in a variety of khaki shades. Early examples, such as this, have metal grommets around the edges (later examples being just punched holes) in order to allow fastening cords to make capes or shelters.
The standard dimension was 6’ long by 3’6” wide, although some variations exist.
This would make a great addition to any small pack display as they were usually carried under the flap.
