WW2 Pattern, British, Royal Armoured Corps Holster with Cleaning Rod.

These holsters were specially designed for wear whilst seated in the confined space of an armoured fighting vehicle or tank. The holster has an open top, like those found in the 'Wild West' with a web strap across the top to prevent the revolver from falling out. A series of web loops holds storage for six spare cartridges with the addition of a web 'sheath' to the side to hold a cleaning rod, included with this holster. The holster was attached to the belt via a large web loop sewn to its rear. This is the shorter and second later pattern, designed to minimise the amount of webbing used in its production.
